NOTE: There are four types of Gates:

  • Schedule

Start Date: Students cannot access the resource until a specific date and time in the future.

End Date: Students have access to the resource until a specific date and time.

  • Always Open: This will always be open to this student.

Use case: As an instructor, I would like to make an exception for a student or students to access a gated resource.

  • Started: A specific resource must be started before the gated resource can be accessed.
  • Finished: A specific resource must be completed before the gated resource can be accessed.

Optional – Require a minimum score (as a percentage): The student must reach a  minimum score on the finished resource before the gated resource can be accessed.

8. Click the arrow for the Graded Resource Policy dropdown menu and select one of the options:

Allow no access at all to graded pages: Students will not be able to review previous attempts on this resource once it has been gated.

Allow the review of previously completed attempts: Students will be able to review previous attempts on this resource once it has been gated.

  • If you are creating a Schedule gate proceed to step 9.
